☀️✨“All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.” ~ JRR Tolkien.
🍁 Hey friends! When we are first introduced to yoga, we learn about the asana, the poses & shapes our bodies create, but the asana is actually the 3rd limb of 8 limbs of yoga! There’s so much MORE! We skip right over the first 2 very important limbs! In my classes, I press the rewind button, & we start at the beginning, with the 1st limb of yoga: the Yamas, tools for transformation in our lives!
🍂 This week we dove into the third Yama, Asteya! Non-stealing. We can embrace asteya on & off our mats! Our mat can serve as an eye-opener for how we live our lives. Non-stealing = giving. How do we begin to not steal, not take from ourselves? When we let go of self-criticism, of envy of others, of wanting. We let go of minimizing what we do & who we are. We shed those false layers, & begin to see our gifts again, they’ve been there all along, just lost underneath. We see our worth!
How can we not take from others? When we give our time, our attention, listening with intention of seeing & knowing that person, becoming present.
🍁We opened our hearts, we paused in poses, giving ourselves time to feel into the body. We shed the layers we’ve accumulated: judgement, self-doubt, worry, stress, misunderstanding, apathy, comparison, unworthiness. Yoga helps us shed those false layers,
what we no longer need, so we may see our purest, most honest selves! All we have to decide is what to do with time we are given…..do we take, do we steal, or do we give. Asteya.
🍂That’s what I LOVE about yoga, it nourishes the body, heals the mind, and renews the soul! What we do on the mat, transforms our life off the mat! It is beautiful!!
🍁Stay tuned for more on how my words from my yoga classes can transform our daily lives!🫶🏻 Next class: Brahmacharya, or Moderation!!🍁🤎💛
