🍃”When we are deeply rooted in purpose, we discover just how brave & beautiful it is to bloom.” ~words from class this week.
✨So many teachers help us bloom in this life: nature, spiritual leaders, friends, parents, school teachers, nurses, doctors, strangers, yoga instructors, meditation guides, musicians, ourselves…I could go on! A few days ago, a new student in one of my classes reminded me of purpose & the bravery to bloom. We chatted & connected right away. Before class, she warned me. She warned me that she is in constant, daily pain. Debilitating pain. I was taken abac, pretty sure my jaw dropped. She was younger than me, more fit, so beautiful. A reminder that we NEVER know what someone is carrying. Physical pain when they share a funny story, depression when they share a joyful hug, emotional trauma when they share a laugh with you. We never know, until we listen and offer love.
✨She reminded me of life’s purpose. To listen, to slow down, to help others. After walking through darkness, I often questioned my purpose. Through all the broken pieces, slowly, I began to see tiny bits of light stream through. And that light grew as the pieces moved & shifted, a mosaic learning how to come together again. To heal. I discovered my purpose. I listened. I did the work. It was hard. But it was necessary, and in that bravery I discovered a bloom. Now, I’m gathering all the blooms into a bouquet to offer to others. It is such a gift and honor to help others heal physically, mentally, and emotionally through this modality of yoga, through breath and movement, through music and stillness. Human connection to one another… and to the earth and all living beings. We become one. 🌳☀️🍃
